Commr Secy inaugurates IIT Jammu’s Leadership Bootcamp Vidyabhirama’24

JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu marked a historic milestone with the successful commencement of its inaugural Leadership Bootcamp, Vidyabhirama’24 here today.

Commissioner Secretary of Industries & Commerce, Vikramjit Singh, who inaugurated the event, addressed the participants and expressed his views on the subject. He hoped that the Bootcamp would further add to the knowledge of the participants regarding different aspects of leadership.

The event witnessed informative lectures by eminent speakers, including Dr. Barnali Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, IIM Jammu, Dr. Amitash Ojha, Assistant Professor, IIT Jammu, Dr. Javed Mohammad Iqbal, Assistant Professor, University of Ladakh, and Praveen Bangera Founder, XVERSE Limited.

Attended by 41 participants from renowned institutes of Jammu including GGM Science College, J&K College of BBA, SMVDU Katra, MIET Jammu, and IIT Jammu itself, among others, this one-day boot camp featured insightful guest talks, followed by sessions addressing 10 problem statements related to J&K challenges.

The participants suggested several innovative solutions with a dedicated focus on “Design Thinking and Sustainability”.

Premveer Singh, a final-year student at IIT Jammu and the convenor of the Bootcamp, expressed his aspirations to observe this initiative as an annual event. Professor Manoj Singh Gaur, Director of IIT Jammu, proposed expansion of the Bootcamp to a more extensive 3-5 day format, thus concluding this impactful leadership program on a promising note.
