BJP’s proxy Govt a total failure in J&K: Ali Mohd Sagar

JAMMU: General Secretary Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), Ali Mohd Sagar, has asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s proxy Govt in J&K is a total failure with people crumbled under multiple miseries.

He, according to the NC spokesperson, expressed this while addressing a meeting of the Provincial Working Committee of the party held today at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu under the chairmanship of the party’s Provincial President Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta.

Ali Mohd Sagar was the Chief Guest on the occasion in the presence of the party’s Additional General Secretary Dr Mustafa Kamaal, who also addressed the meeting. 

The meeting commenced with the welcome of the senior party cadre after which the party functionaries from various parts of the Jammu region apprised the senior functionaries about the hardships being faced by the people of Jammu under the present non-representative or popular government in this Union Territory. 

The highlight of today’s meeting was the passing of a resolution to condemn the Govt for not conducting the Assembly elections in J&K besides causing unnecessary delay in holding the Panchayat and ULB polls.

Ali Mohd Sagar, General Secretary JKNC said that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s proxy government in J&K, run by the Administration led by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has proved to be an utter failure on all fronts with common people of this Union Territory left to fend for themselves. He said that the people of the Jammu region who were promised the moon by the BJP today feel betrayed by the saffron party as it never proceeded beyond ‘Jumlas’ creating merely false narratives to secure votes. 

He said that even the saffron party leaders know quite well that the people of this region are waiting to teach them a lesson. He said that BJP fears losing the elections when held and this is the reason that the Govt has adopted delaying tactics even in holding the Panchayat and ULB polls in J&K.

Asserting that NC is the only secular and successful party in J&K, the senior JKNC leader said that only NC rule in J&K can bring smiles back to the people in this Union Territory.

JKNC Additional General Secretary, Dr Mustafa Kamaal while addressing the meeting, underscored a deep-rooted concern for the overlooked plight of the people in Jammu across diverse aspects. He pointed out that the region, with its unique cultural and strategic significance, had often been sidelined in national discourse.

Dr Kamaal highlighted infrastructural gaps, inadequate social services, and economic disparities that have persisted over time. He stressed the necessity of tailored policies to address these specific challenges and ensure the holistic development of Jammu.

The senior NC leader also called for a more inclusive political representation, asserting that the region’s voice should resonate in legislative decisions.

Rattan Lal Gupta, JKNC Provincial President Jammu in his address on the occasion said that it is an irony of the people of Jammu that despite having voted for BJP they themselves became the worst victims of its policies. He said that the miseries of the people have further multiplied with none in the administration to listen to them.

Assuring the top cadre of NC that the party is fully geared up for the elections from today itself and the people of Jammu are anxiously waiting to oust the incumbent BJP Govt at the Centre. He said that People have now realized that only NC can provide solutions to their every problem and they will overwhelmingly vote for NC candidates whenever Assembly elections are held in J&K.
