Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman informed Saturday.
He said at Walraman Chandoosa, police intercepted and later arrested two persons — Farooq Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Nabi of Chakloo, at present Najibhat Kreeri, and Mohammad Altaf Sofi, son of Abdul Aziz of Chakloo Baramulla, after 40 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession.
At Dhobiwan Barzulla, police intercepted a vehicle (JK05B-0134) with two persons on board. Both persons — Hilal Ahmad Wani and Bilal Ahmad Wani, sons of Ghulam Nabi, residents of Barzulla Kunzer, were arrested and vehicle seized after 510 grams of cannabis and 11 bottles of Codeine Phosphate syrup were recovered from their possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigations.
