JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, reviewed the arrangements of UT level Republic Day Celebration 2024 at MA Stadium today.
DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua, Shakti Pathak; Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya; SSP Jammu, SSP Security Jammu, SSP Traffic besides senior officers of Police, Army, CRPF, BSF, SSB, Air Force, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, PWD, JMC, Health Services, Information, Education, Cultural Academy, Youth Services and Sports, Hospitality and Protocol, and other concerned departments were present.
The Div Com took stock of the arrangements to be made by each department. He directed the HoDs to make all the respective arrangements including repair works, whitewash, parking facilities, sanitation, decoration, security, and convenient entry into the venue for the public after proper frisking.
Each head of the department was asked to appoint nodal officers to meticulously coordinate the preparations for the Republic Day Parade 2024. Arranging buses for ferrying the general public to the stadium and wide publicity of parking spaces and public entry points were also emphasised.
Taking a review of the cultural activities planned for the National Event, a special focus was sought on celebrating the cultural heritage, patriotic ethos and regional diversity.
Directions were also issued for setting up a Joint control room to ensure seamless preparations and a hassle-free celebration of Republic Day 2024.
