Agriculture Deptt Kmr organises event under Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra

SRINAGAR: The Agriculture Department Kashmir today organised an event under the theme of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi Srinagar.

The event was presided over by the Director of Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal. Joint Director Agriculture Extension, G.M Dhobi; Deputy Director Agriculture Central, Waheed-ul-Rehmaan; Chief Agriculture Officer Srinagar, Manoharlal- Sharma and other senior officers, officials of the department and a large number of farmers and agri-preneurs were present on the occasion.

In his address, the Director of Agriculture highlighted the importance of VBSY and said that the yatra is successfully going on. He said the basic objective of organising this event is to reach out to the last farmer in the queue and to cover the uncovered under different centrally Sponsored Schemes.

He directed all the officers to ensure that the benefits under different schemes reach every farmer in the region. Under ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’ a number of farmers and agri-preneurs shared their experiences as farmers and their Journey to becoming successful growers.

Earlier, farmers enthusiastically watched the prime minister’s interaction with beneficiaries of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra through virtual mode.
