SRINAGAR: Mobile Veterinary Units have been established in the Kashmir division under the Establishment and Strengthening of Veterinary Hospitals and Dispensaries Scheme (ESVHD), a component of the Livestock Health and Disease Control Program (LHDCP) throughout the valley.
These were launched to increase the accessibility of veterinary services at farmer’s doorsteps. The farmers have to dial AHD Helpdesk 1962 to avail the said service
In addition, Mobile Veterinary Unit of Animal Welfare Directorate of Animal Husbandry Kashmir provides ambulatory services to the dedicated Police Service Canines, the committed warriors of the nation belonging to Crime Branch Kashmir.
The said services are the first of its kind providing doorstep emergency services to the farming community.
Speaking on the scheme, Dr. Qazi Mudasir an expert from Central Veterinary Hospital said the scheme will definitely help the poor farming community in getting emergency doorstep treatment for their livestock and other animals.
