New Delhi: In commemoration of the historic first train run in India on 16th April 1853, the 68th Railway Week Central Function – Ati Vishist Rail Seva Puraskar-2023 is all set to take place at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on 15th December 2023.

This prestigious event will witness the presence of Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister of Railways, Communications & Electronics and Information Technology, who will be conferring awards and shields to commendable railway personnel, Zonal Railways, and Public Sector Units (PSUs) for their outstanding services and best performances.

The Chief Guest, Ashwini Vaishnaw, will be presiding over the ceremony, presenting awards and shields to 100 exemplary railway employees from various corners of the country. An additional 21 shields will be bestowed upon Zonal Railways, Production Units, and PSUs, recognizing their excellence in specific fields.

The event will also be graced by Raosaheb Patil Danve, the Union Minister of State for Railways, Coal & Mines; Darshana Jardosh, the Union Minister of State for Railways & Textile; along with the Chairman & CEO and Members of the Railway Board. General Managers of all Zonal Railways, Production Units of Railways, and PSUs of Railways are expected to be in attendance, making it a comprehensive representation of the Indian Railways leadership.

“This annual celebration is a testament to the dedication and hard work of railway personnel who have contributed significantly to the growth and efficiency of the Indian Railways,” stated Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, will host the event, marking a significant first for Indian Railways. The occasion promises to be a grand affair, showcasing the unity and achievements of the railway community.

Chief Public Relations Officer, Deepak Kumar, expressed his enthusiasm about the event, emphasizing its importance as one of the major functions of the Indian Railways. The ceremony will not only recognize outstanding individuals but also highlight the collective efforts that drive the success of the railway network across the nation.

As the 68th National Railways Award Function-2023 unfolds, it stands as a tribute to the continuous pursuit of excellence within the Indian Railways and serves as a platform to honor those who contribute to its remarkable journey.
