During a four-hour long session from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., as many as 125 persons including women from different parts of the UT participated in today’s grievance redressal programme and placed their grievances before the DGP, J&K.

The DGP J&K gave a patient hearing to each one of them and maintained that Jammu and Kashmir Police is serious about resolving the grievances of the people pertaining to police services in the UT. He issued on-the-spot directions to a few police units in the field to expedite quality redressal. He informed that the progress and status of grievances in suitable cases would be shared through WhatsApp.

It is reminded that the objective of public grievances redressal programmes is to effectively resolve the legitimate concerns of the public and to gain valuable insights to enhance J&K Police services. It should be noted that the initiative is not aimed for the recruitment of Special Police Officers (SPOs) or to handle general transfer requests.
