In his inaugural address, the Director of Agriculture highlighted the importance of VBSY and said that the basic objective of organising this event is to reach the last farmer in the queue and to cover the uncovered under different centrally sponsored schemes.

He directed all the officers to ensure that the benefits under different schemes reached every farmer in the region. Under ‘Meri Kahani, Meri Zubani’ a number of farmers and agri-preneurs shared their experiences as farmers and their journey to becoming successful growers.

The Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department has so far actively participated in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and organised various awareness camps among the farming communities at the panchayat level. The door-to-door campaign was also conducted to provide first-hand information about the centrally sponsored schemes being implemented by the department for the farming community of the region.
