GANDHINAGAR (GUJRAT): The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department is putting its best efforts into promoting its niche tourism potential like Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) as well as Golf to attract high-end conference delegates from the domestic and global markets post successful organising of global level G-20 event.

The SKICC has emerged as an important venue for hosting global and high-end domestic MICE events.

A team of officials from J&K tourism participated in an important three-day Conventions India Conclave (CIC) at Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre Gujarat organised by the India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), working under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Tourism.

Marketing Manager, SKICC, Shahnawaz Ahmad Shah during the conclave presented conference and post-conference avenues and services of Jammu and Kashmir to delegates from across the globe including the MICE tourism organisers from the domestic market.

The J&K team also interacted with the buyers in B-2-B meetings besides having other interactions. The stakeholders from other parts evinced a keen interest in organising conferences and other events in Jammu and Kashmir.

The ICPB board on the occasion announced to consider SKICC for hosting the next CIC which brings in global participation.

The CIC Gujrat event was attended by 17 countries like USA, Argentina, France, Greece, Cyprus, Mexico and others besides fifty corporate, hotel chains and Convention centres from all over India also attended the conclave.

The JK tourism team and pavilion received a huge response from the participants during the conclave.

The JK Tourism team included the CEO Baderwah Development Authority and other officers of the Tourism Department.
