ADGP law and order chairs joint security review meet

Srinagar: ADGP Law and Order, Vijay Kumar, chaired a joint meeting of police and CRPF in Police Control Room Srinagar today, officials said.

IG CRPF Ajay Kumar Yadav, IGP Kashmir V.K Birdi, DDIB, DIG CKR, DIG CRPF North & DIG CRPF South, SSP Srinagar, SSP PCR Kashmir, all the Nodal COs of CRPF, SP Cargo Srinagar, all Zonal SPs and SDPOs of Srinagar participated in the meeting, police said in a press release.

It said during the meeting, a detailed security plan of Srinagar district was discussed threadbare wherein CRPF and police were acquainted with “their new roles”.

Suggestions were also taken from the field officers to have a fair idea of the shortcomings, avoid confusion at the cutting edge in order to make it a perfect and comprehensive CT grid, the press release said, adding that the ADGP told the officers that idea of a perfect security grid is possible only if the things discussed are implemented on ground in letter and spirit.

He stressed on strengthening the functioning of the joint police control room and better communication mechanism between field officers of CRPF and police in the city.

ADGP also instructed SSP Srinagar to conduct joint mock drills to handle post-terror incident situations in the city, the release said, adding that instructions were passed on to deal strictly with the individuals disrupting peace.
