Dagger Division organizes job fair, facilitating employment opportunities for J&K youth

Srinagar: In a commendable effort to contribute positively to the local community, the Dagger Division, Pir Panjal Brigade, orchestrated a two-day Job Fair at the Chinar Nau Jawan Club in Boniyar on December 1st and 2nd, 2023.

The event, organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Employment, Jammu & Kashmir, aimed to serve as a bridge between local youth seeking employment and potential employers.

The Job Fair drew an impressive turnout, attracting nearly 2500 young individuals from Jammu & Kashmir who vied for approximately 600 job vacancies across diverse sectors. Participating employers, both from within the Union Territory and beyond, provided a comprehensive platform for candidates to explore opportunities in sectors such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, and Handlooms.

The collaborative effort between the Indian Army and the Directorate of Employment facilitated a broader understanding of institutional schemes designed to generate self-employment and highlighted the various financial aid initiatives available to aspiring entrepreneurs.

Noteworthy private enterprises also actively participated in the Job Fair, offering employment prospects for both skilled and unskilled individuals. Leveraging the newly established IT Lab on site, numerous employers conducted online interviews, streamlining the hiring process and ensuring efficiency.

Among the key highlights of the event were the distribution of appointment letters, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) donations directed towards Vocational Training Centres, and the recognition and awarding of technical qualifications. These aspects added a significant dimension to the Job Fair, underscoring its success in fostering economic growth and inclusivity.

This initiative is the latest stride by the Indian Army in its holistic approach towards promoting economic development in the region while further fortifying the harmonious bond with the local population. The Dagger Division’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for the youth reflects its dedication to fostering a brighter and more prosperous future for the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
