Saurabh Bhagat presides Public Darbar at Awantipora

AWANTIPORA, (PULWAMA): Commissioner Secretary, Science and Technology (S&T), Saurabh Bhagat, presided over Public Darbar here today to assess the developmental needs of the public as well as take stock of their issues and grievances.

Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom; Additional District Development Commissioner Pulwama, SSP Awantipora, ADC Awantipora, and other District officers were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary outlined the Government’s commitment to directly engage with the people, emphasizing the primary goal of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and Public Darbar for assessing the developmental needs of the public.

Highlighting the potential of District Pulwama in milk, saffron, and industrial sectors, Saurabh Bhagat underscored the significant role of institutions like AIIMS and IUST in Awantipora in contributing to the area’s development. 

Emphasizing the need for awareness about Government schemes, he stated that these programs aim to inform the public, stressing that the overall goal is to achieve saturation of schemes.

The Commissioner Secretary further emphasized the importance of connecting with the public to understand their needs and address them effectively. He highlighted that services are now accessible online, aligning with the broader objective of fostering a developed and connected region.

During the darbar, the public projected demands and issues before the Commissioner Secretary.

The Commissioner Secretary during the sidelines of Darbar also inspected stalls established by various departments. Commissioner Secretary toured each stall, gaining insights into the diverse schemes implemented by these departments for the welfare of the public.

The Commissioner Secretary also administered the pledge of SANKALP to the participants of Darbar.

He also distributed mementoes among the dedicated members of the Pani Samiti, recognizing their invaluable contributions to community welfare.

As part of the darbar, sports activities, including a spirited game of tug of war were also held besides the the audience was enlightened by a message from the Prime Minister, emphasizing the significance of the Sankalp Yatra.

Beneficiaries of various Government schemes shared their transformative stories during the “Meri Kahani Meri Zubani” segment, underscoring the positive impact of government interventions on their lives.
