DC Srinagar finalises arrangements for Prakash Utsav celebrations

SRINAGAR: A delegation of Srinagar Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Saturday met Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad in his Office Chamber to discuss the arrangements for Prakash Utsav marking the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji being celebrated on November 27, 2023.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed appraisal of the arrangements to be made by different Departments for the smooth observance of Prakash Utsav celebrations in the district.
Members of the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee who were present in the meeting briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the requirements for the occasion.
They sought adequate arrangements for ensuring proper transport and parking facilities for devotees, proper traffic and security management, and adequate sanitation and cleanliness measures in and around Gurdawaras particularly at Gurudawa Chattipadsahi Rainawari, besides making arrangements for uninterrupted power and water supplies.
During the meeting, the DC issued directions to the concerned Officers in the presence of GPC members to ensure that all kinds of facilities are made available on the auspicious occasion.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Shabir Ahmad, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Ahmad Kataria, Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, Tehsildar Headquarter, Imtiyaz Amin Naik and Officers of other concerned Departments were present in the meeting. The delegation comprising SGPC president, Jaspal Singh, Secretary Ranjit Singh, Treasurer Gurmeet Singh and Bopinder Singh were also part of the meeting.
