Srinagar: As part of the ongoing Audit Diwas-2023 celebrations, the city of Srinagar came alive with fervor and sportsmanship as cricket and football matches took center stage at the TRC Cricket Ground and Synthetic Turf TRC today.
Distinguished guests, including renowned cricketers Shri Abid Nabi and Shri Sami-Ul-Allah Beigh, Shri Bashir Ahmad Malik, President of the District Football Association, Shri Majid Dar, Coach/Educator, and Shri Subramanyam, Chief Technical Officer of the Football Federation of India, graced the occasion with their presence.
The cricket clash unfolded between Pr. Accountant General (Audit) and Pr. Accountant General (Accounts & Entitlements). The Accounts team emerged victorious, securing a 34-run win over their counterparts. Shri Manish’s stellar performance, amassing 95 runs, earned him the well-deserved title of Man of the Match.
Simultaneously, the Synthetic Turf TRC witnessed an engaging football match between PAG-XI and SFA. The closely contested game concluded with SFA claiming a 1-0 victory, and Shri Asif Asli from SFA earned the coveted Man of the Match honor for his standout performance.
The sports extravaganza didn’t stop there, as Volleyball and Badminton matches had already set the tone on November 22 at Centaur Lake View Hotel. In the Volleyball finals, the Audit team emerged triumphant, defeating the A&E team in a spirited contest. Shri Charanjibi Sharma of PAG (Audit) showcased exceptional skills to clinch the Badminton title, defeating Shri Anoop Mangotra of PAG (A&E) in a closely fought match.
Table Tennis enthusiasts were treated to an intense battle, with Shri Omar Alam emerging victorious against Shri Shabir Ahmad Digoo of PAG (A&E).
Chess and Carom competitions attracted over 60 participants, adding a cerebral dimension to the festivities. Shri Sourab Ranga of PAG (Audit) demonstrated strategic brilliance in Chess, defeating Shri Nazir Ahmad Zargar of PAG (A&E). Meanwhile, the Carom competition saw Shri Shakir Ahmad of PAG (Audit) claiming the Men’s Final, and Ms. Ifshan Mustafa of PAG (A&E) emerging victorious in the Women’s Final.
