VC KVIB chairs performance review meeting of Jammu division

JAMMU: Dr Vice Chairperson, Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), Hina Shafi Bhat, today chaired the performance review meeting of the Jammu Division at Udhyog Bhawan here.

The meeting was attended by Secretary/CEO J&K KVIB and other senior officers of the Board.

During the meeting, it was divulged that during the current financial year margin money to the tune of Rs 86.16 crore involving a Bank loan of Rs. 286 crore has been released for the establishment of 3914 units. Besides, employment opportunities for 31312 persons were created during the period and further employment opportunities for more than one lakh persons are being envisaged by the end of the current financial year.

The Vice Chairperson stressed the need for the active involvement of field officers in propagating and disseminating the aims and objectives of JKREGP and PMEGP schemes among all sections of society. She asked the district officers to follow up on the cases at the bank level and ensure that instances of bank rejection are minimized. She also asked the district officers to work in close coordination with banks and allied agencies to ensure maximum participation of youth and aspirants.

Later, the Vice Chairperson along with CEO J&K KVIB visited some of the units established in urban areas of Jammu district.

While lauding the efforts of officers, she underlined the need to ensure quality sponsorship preferably under the priority sector, so that success stories are created in due course of time.
