Director Agriculture takes stock of Rabi crop scenario in Kupwara

SRINAGAR: The Director of Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal today visited different areas of Kupwara district and took stock of the Rabi crop scenario in the district. He also reviewed the supply and stock positions of different inputs.

During the visit to different villages, the Director of Agriculture interacted with the farmers and took their feedback regarding the sowing of Rabi crops and other agricultural activities.

Speaking to the farmers at different places, the Director of Agriculture said that under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) the approved projects would be the game changer for the agriculture sector in the region.

He asked the officers to increase the awareness among the farmers regarding the projects under HADP. He said for the successful implementation of HADP awareness among the farmers would play a pivotal role.

Director of Agriculture also monitored the oilseed sowing operations at some places. He said that last year oilseed production was remarkable. He said that the department is endeavouring to bring more and more cultivation of Rabi crops including oilseed.

Among others, Chief Agriculture Officer Kupwara, Gurdeep Singh was also present on the occasion.
