‘Back to Village’: Dheeraj Gupta chairs Bal Sabha at Ichgam

BUDGAM: Principal Secretary, Forest, Ecology and Environment, Dheeraj Gupta, today chaired a Bal Sabha and inaugurated sports activities at the newly developed playfield during the fifth phase of the ambitious “Back to Village” programme held at Panchayat halqa Ichgam.

During the Bal Sabha, the Principal Secretary interacted with students from Middle School and Primary school Ichgam who raised their demands and issues.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal Secretary instructed the concerned to provide a projector facility for the ICT lab and other necessary equipment for sports besides furniture for Middle and primary schools in the Panchayat.

During the event, Principal Secretary along with Deputy Commissioner, Akshay Labroo, also inspected stalls installed by various departments to create awareness about their welfare schemes and flagship programmes. He reviewed the implementation of department-wise welfare schemes and flagship programs.

Chairman BDC, ADDC, ACD and all district officers attended the programme.

The Principal Secretary also distributed sanction letters and felicitated beneficiaries under PMEGP, JSY, Mumkin, Tejaswini, and Nutrition Kits for TB patients. Besides, beneficiaries of Agriculture, NRLM and Horticulture departments were also felicitated on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Dheeraj Gupta highlighted the importance of conducting “Back to village” programmes. ”Such programmes have been tailored to see development on the ground with transformative improvement in overall work culture.

He said the programme should be observed as a means to celebrate governance at the grassroots level with people’s participation and accountability of the administration.

Later, the Principal Secretary also visited the newly constructed playfield and inaugurated sports activities including Tug of War and Kabadi championships. He also handed over band equipment to various schools.

He said that the playfield will be improved under phase- 2 and all required sports-related infrastructure facilities shall be created for local youth.

Deputy Commissioner, Akshay Labroo who also spoke on the occasion, urged upon the youth to make the best use of the ground and ensure maximum participation in sports activities.

It is apt to mention that Phase fifth (5th) of Back to Village has started on the 7th of November and will culminate on the 16th of November in all panchayats across the UT of J&K.
