SRINAGAR: Commissioner Secretary, Skill Development Department, Saurabh Bhagat, today visited Government ITI Srinagar, Bagh-i-Dilawar Khan Campus.

During the visit, the Commissioner Secretary inspected various streams including Automobile, IT and ITeS, Electrical, Heritage Craft, Garment and other sectors. He asked the trainees to visit the Grading Portal developed by the Directorate of Skill Development regularly and honestly review the faculty of ITI to carry out their upskilling.

Commissioner Secretary, during interaction with the staff and trainees, emphasized the need for upskilling of existing faculty to keep pace with changing trends in the industry sector. He asked for Internal Revenue Generation of the institution by way of sale of finished goods/jobs.

Sourabh Bhagat exhorted upon the concerned for imparting industry-oriented skill development training to the candidates so that pass-out trainees get easily accommodated in the industrial world. He asked for teaching communication skills to the trainees to enhance employability avenues for them. He also asked to develop a portal for tracking pass-out trainees.

Later, the Commissioner Secretary inspected the recently acquired land at Bagh-i-Dilawar Khan Campus. He issued on-the-spot instructions to the Principal Government ITI Srinagar to submit DPRs for the construction of a Workshop Block on modern lines with a provision of 50-bed hostel on the first floor.
