NEW DELHI: The Jammu and Kashmir government, under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, is firmly dedicated to providing market linkages and fostering opportunities for entrepreneurs to explore both domestic and international markets.

Aiming at showcasing J&K as an ideal investment destination, the region is actively participating in World Food India 2023.

The J&K’s delegation, led by Managing Director JKTPO, Khalid Jahangir, seized the opportunity to engage in crucial Business-to-Government (B2G) and Government-to-Government (G2G) meetings. These meetings will prove greatly beneficial towards exploring the sourcing of agricultural, horticultural, and processed food products from Jammu and Kashmir besides unveiling potential investment opportunities in the region.

The JKTPO delegation held significant discussions with prominent industry leaders including Sharaf Group, LuLu Group, Ghassan Group, HaldiramTPCI, Vietnam Embassy, Amul, ITC, Britannia, LT Foods (Dawat Basmati), Godrej Tyson Foods National Federation of Corrugated Boxes of India and HRS Process Systems.

During these meetings, the distinguished business houses were provided in-depth insights into the unparalleled incentives being offered by Jammu and Kashmir, which are considered among the best in the country. The unique selling points (USPs) of the products offered by J&K, including Geographical Indication (GI) tagging, production capabilities and the unwavering support being provided by JKTPO in facilitating investments and sourcing of products, were also highlighted.

Eminent personalities and leaders from the business fraternity, such as Sharaf-ud-din Sharaf, Vice Chairman of Sharaf Group UAE, Yusuf Tambawala, Vice President of Ghassan Aboud Group UAE, Salim VI, Chief Operating Officer of Lulu Group UAE, DoDuyKhanh, First Secretary at the Embassy of Vietnam, Ranjeet Kohli, CEO and Executive Director of Britannia, and Vivek Chandra, CEO of LT Foods, Sanjay Singanai, Vice President Handiram, Kaif Siddiqui, General Manager Godrej Tyson and other top management of these companies participated in the meetings.

The delegation of officers from J&K was comprised of Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal, Director of Agriculture, Kashmir, Manzoor Ahmad, Managing Director, JK Agro Industries Dev. Corporation, Suresh Khajuria, Joint Director, Agriculture Jammu, Imran Mahmood, Financial Advisor, JKTPO and Megha Baogia, General Manager, JKTPO.

The exhibition is underway wherein 24 exhibitors from Jammu & Kashmir are participating. The successful participation of JKTPO in World Food India 2023 underlines the organization’s commitment towards fostering economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir by connecting with industry leaders and creating opportunities for trade and investment in the region.
