Srinagar: After defeating the Rajasthan United Football Club in the inaugural I League match, Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) had a 1-0 victory over Tiddim Road Athletic Union FC (TRAU FC) on Saturday at TRC Ground in Srinagar.

Since the beginning of the match both the teams looked aggressive and had chances but could not convert them into goals. However, before the half time, Jeremy Laldinpuia of the RKFC maneuvered through the opposition, leaving two defenders behind as he engaged in a brilliant passing exchange with Gnohere Krizo. Krizo delivered a perfectly timed pass back to Jeremy, who elegantly curled the ball into the bottom right corner with a first-time strike.

The fans passionately cheered for their home team. Fueled by the passionate crowd, RKFC maintained relentless pressure on the visiting team. In the first half RKFC was leading 1-0.

However, in the second half, TRAU showed more determination, but RKFC did not just focus on defending their lead, they also were content to adopt a defensive stance in front of their goal, relying on counterattacks.

Despite a late push by TRAU, with Thawan Marcus Goncalves and William Ribeiro Dos Reis missing scoring opportunities, RKFC maintained their lead and secured three points, preserving their flawless record in the league so far. With this win, RKFC has 2 wins with 6 points and is on the top of the points table.

RKFC will next take on Churchill Brothers on November 08 at the same venue.

For this season, the club has signed a renowned local coach Ishfaq Ahmad, who has represented the Indian football team for several years. While the majority of players’ part of the RKFC in this season are locals.

The I League is one of the top football leagues of the country in which international and national players are participating. For the season 2023-2024, at least 13 teams from across the country are participating and will be played for the next five months. From J&K, RKFC is the only club qualified to play in the I-League and is owned by Sandeep Chatoo.
