Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Pulwama and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Sunday.
He said acting on specific information, police raided the house of Asadullah Mochi, son of Ghulam Ahmad Mochi of Sheikh Mohalla Bellow, and recovered 2.5 Kgs and 5.6 Kgs of cannabis powder concealed in two nylon bags from the house. The accused was arrested on the spot and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
A drug peddler Mudasir Khursheed, resident of Zadoora was arrested and a “significant quantity” of cannabis powder was recovered from his possession.
Cases have been registered at respective police stations and further investigations initiated, police said.
