Srinagar: Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari on Tuesday said that his party will reverse the decision to discontinue ‘Darbar Move’ on a priority basis if elected to power.

Bukhari said, “Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party fully backs the legitimate demand of the people of Jammu seeking reversal of the decision regarding the discontinuation of the ‘Darbar Move’ decision. Let this be put on record that the Apni Party will take this matter on priority once elected to power”.

Notably, the age-old tradition of Darbar Move was nullified by the present J&K dispensation led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, citing unnecessary burden on the state exchequer. However, the decision drew severe criticism from Jammuities who demanded immediate restoration of this tradition. (KNS)
