Indian Army and Kashmir Central Magazine foster youth engagement at KU seminar

Srinagar: As part of its ongoing collaboration and engagement with young minds, the Indian Army in collaboration with Kashmir Central magazine, conducted a Youth Seminar on October 17th at the North Campus of Kashmir University. 

This transformative event witnessed active participation from the youth, academia, intellectuals, professionals and creative thinkers across schools and colleges making up an audience of 520 across all age groups, fostering an environment of vibrant discussion on educational reforms, innovation and cultural inclusiveness.

The Youth Seminar was inaugurated by prof Gul Mohd Vani. Mr Bashir Assad, a renowned author and senior journalist set the tone for immersive discussion with his welcome address. The audience was then treated to an exhilarating glimpse of Kashmir’s cultural diversity by a troupe of Ms Shagufta Rehman.

The inaugural session of the seminar focused on discussing ‘Innovative Pedagogies and New Education Policy’. Mr. Bashir Assad, Ms Mehjabeen Nabi, Social Activist and Mr Aijaz Bashir shared their views with an enraptured audience.

The concluding session of the seminar on the topic ‘Preserving Our Cultural Heritage’ explored ways to safeguard and celebrate the rich cultural historical heritage and syncretic identity of Kashmir. Prof. Gul Mohd Wani, Political Scientist and Educationist, and Mr Mushtaq Ali Ahmad Khan, Actor, Art Promoter and Filmmaker, spoke on the theme and enlightened the audience.

The students and faculty representing schools and colleges from all across North Kashmir enthusiastically participated in the seminar with incisive and thought-provoking queries and opinions to the panellists. 

Such interactive events on contemporary and constructive themes would further inspire and motivate the youth of Kashmir to actively participate towards shaping the future of Kashmir as one of the most important stakeholders.
