Baramulla: In a remarkable initiative aimed at fostering constructive engagement and nurturing the dreams of young cricketers aspiring to represent the Indian national cricket team, the Baramulla Premier League 2023 is set to captivate the cricketing community in the picturesque town of Baramulla.

This cricketing extravaganza pays a heartfelt tribute to the late General Bipin Rawat through the General Bipin Rawat Memorial Cricket Tournament, meticulously organized under the banner of DAGGAR DIVISION/HIMALAYAN BRIGADE/Baramulla Rashtriya Rifles.

Featuring teams comprising local talent, this tournament stands as a fertile ground for emerging cricketers to exhibit their skills and etch their names onto the cricketing canvas.

The T20 cricket championship, scheduled to be held from October 15th to November 4th, 2023, is poised to be a fitting homage to the former Chief of Defense Staff. It aspires to promote the cherished values of discipline, teamwork, and patriotism—values that General Bipin Rawat exemplified throughout his illustrious career. The enthusiasm and zeal among the youth participating in the tournament are palpable, evident in the substantial number of teams vying for victory.

The event commenced with a grand opening ceremony at the renowned Jhelum Stadium, graced by the esteemed presence of Dy GOC Dagger Division, Dy Cdr, Himalayan Brigade, and Commanding Officer Baramulla Rashtriya Rifles. These dignitaries passionately encouraged the participants to seize this golden opportunity and derive maximum benefits from the sports events organized by the Indian Army.
