Week-long mental health awareness programme by KV 1 concludes

Srinagar: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan 1, Srinagar observed Mental Health Awareness Week from October 4th to 10th, 2023, with a series of activities aimed at promoting mental well-being. 

The school organized various events throughout the week to encourage discussion and understanding about mental health.

Art Educator of the school, Rafi conducted activities fostering the creativity of students through poster-making, comic strip creation, and slogan writing which helped showcase the artistic talents of the students and also conveyed important messages about the issue.

Group discussions were held where students shared insights and experiences related to mental health. These discussions encouraged open dialogue and the exchange of ideas, helping reduce the stigma around mental health issues.

Besides storytelling sessions, expressive speech sessions were also conducted, which provided a platform for students to raise awareness about mental health in a public speaking format.

Maninder Anand, PET, led sessions on meditation techniques, Jyoti Katna, CCA Incharge, focused on nurturing a healthy mindset and Rishabh Pandey directed a captivating skit centred around the theme of mental health.

Students took the stage to share their experiences related to mental health, breaking down barriers and encouraging empathy among their peers.

Thahiruddeen M, acting Principal, expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic participation of students and staff during Mental Health Awareness Week and emphasized the importance of continuing such initiatives to foster a more supportive and understanding community.

KV No.1 Srinagar encourages other educational institutions and organizations to join in the vital cause of mental health awareness and support. Together, we can work towards a society where mental well-being is a top priority, he added.
