Board of Apprenticeship Training to hold “Industry Meet”, “Job Fair for Apprenticeship Training” on Oct 14

SRINAGAR: The Board of Apprenticeship Training (Northern Region) under the Department of Higher Education, Union Ministry of Education, is going to organize a mega event comprising an “Industry Meet” and a “Job Fair for Apprenticeship Training” on Saturday, 14th October 2023, (9 am) at Government Polytechnic for Women, Bemina, Srinagar for the students who have completed their graduation or diploma in last 5 years.

According to a communique received here today in this regard, the categories of the students eligible to participate would be Graduate in Engineering/Technology (B.E/B.Tech.), graduate in general streams such as B.Sc., B.Com, BA, BHM, BCA, BPT, B.Pharma, B.Sc. Nursing, B.Lib. Sc. and diploma (10+3)

The event will be organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Skill Development, Directorate of Industries and Commerce Kashmir and the Higher Education Department, Government of J&K besides Industries from different areas like Manufacturing, Tourism, Service, Automobile, Textile, Food Processing Power, Cement, IT/ITeS, Software etc.

More than 100 establishments and over 1,000 students are expected to participate in this gala event.

Industries from different sectors will participate in job fairs to select suitable candidates as apprentices to facilitate on-the-job training. At the same time, industries can fill their skilled manpower gap and also get financial benefits from the Government of India by claiming 50% reimbursement of the minimum stipend rate through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS).

The students selected as apprentices will benefit by upskilling themselves along with financial support in the form of a stipend from the establishments through Apprenticeship Training (On-the-job training).
