President Murmu’s KU visit prompts high security

Srinagar: Stringent security measures have been put in place across the entire Kashmir Valley in anticipation of President Draupadi Murmu’s forthcoming visit scheduled for October 11.

President Murmu is slated to deliver the 20th convocation address at Kashmir University on the aforementioned date. This visit marks her inaugural trip to the Valley since assuming the role of the nation’s President.

During the convocation ceremony, the President will confer prestigious honors upon meritorious students and scholars from the University, starting from the year 2020. A total of four hundred students and scholars are set to be bestowed with gold medals, as well as Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degrees.

Following the convocation, President Murmu is expected to participate in a captivating light and sound spectacle on the picturesque Dal Lake in Srinagar. The evening of October 11 will culminate in a dinner reception, graciously hosted by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
