Director Horticulture takes stock of ongoing activities at FPN Zangam Pattan

SRINAGAR: The Director Horticulture Kashmir, G. R. Mir, today visited the departmental fruit plant nursery (FPN) Zangam Pattan in district Baramulla to take stock of various ongoing activities undertaken by the department to produce the quality fruit plant material.

The director during his visit asked for the overall review from the officers in charge in order to address the requirements and fulfill the deficiencies.

During the inspection of the said nursery, the Director said that the nurseries are the powerhouse of the department which not only propagates planting material of worth of standard and quality but actually works as a demonstration centre of the department. Therefore nurseries of the department must be up to the mark in each and every aspect.

He emphasized upon the officers and officials to put their every effort into making it a vibrant centre for the propagation of fruit plant material and demonstration as well.

The director passed on-the-spot instructions to the in-charge nursery and other staff that any laxity in performing their duties shall not be accepted. “The department will provide every support to make this centre a model nursery so that it can become an attraction for the public,” he added.
