“Wahid Joda”, an Urdu language book by Srinagar-based author Muhammad Umran is an alluring collection that summons literary and mystic enthusiasts to undertake an intricate rational journey, involving delving into subtle questions about man’s existence, the peculiar concept of carnal cravings or carnal energy, and man’s continual self-dogging. The book confronts popular beliefs, both empirical and religious, offering a distinctive standpoint on the genesis and cause of humanity.

The soul of the book revolves around the idea that humans are the continuation of a singular pair. This pair, consisting of two opposite forces male and female, stand as an indication of Singularity’s actuality and its encompassing essence.

The book introduces readers to the intricate concept of carnal energy, an inherent force that shapes human actions, desires, and existence. It proposes that the true essence of humanity can only emerge when individuals excel beyond the instincts of carnal energy.

The entire text is laced with substantial examples of pragmatic experiences with individuals like Shah Abdul Rasheed and Urfi Jan and that is what makes it more beautiful and immersive. It is only these people who bestow genuineness to all the major themes of this text and render it reliable for the audience.

The book talks about meditation and its correlation with carnal energy. By pointing out the potential ills of misguided non-material practices, the book prioritizes the crucial role of one’s refinement on the spiritual road. According to the book, opposite to the inaccurate way, the action of meditation should be more of a deliberate practice because only then can one train his mind, and avail recognition and tranquillity. The other way would definitely deceive and trap one’s soul.

Another strapping element of the book is its exploration of the human hole, a figurative bore as explained by the author which runs across the human body and stands responsible for striking the impulses of Singularity. The concept is well-researched and explained because it adds so much depth and affluence to the author’s metaphysical discourse. The book loudly voices that a man wouldn’t grasp the bounties of singularity until he breaks and dominates the carnal energy hedge inside him.

So the book basically questions the readers to reconsider and rethink the WHY factor behind their existence so that the eagerness to achieve the full understanding of one’s being will be pleased. It is perfect to stimulate one’s cerebral journey, to challenge the long-established traditionality and dig deeper for a profound perspective on man’s genesis. If understood properly, this book would put its reader on a never-ending chase of exploring a sea of content to determine what really influences man’s beliefs, actions and wishes. The book is a guide to recognising one’s place in the cosmos and the notion that one has a deeper connection with the universe and its laws.

“Wahid Joda”, the inspiring title demands us to mull over our relationship with the universe. From footprints of carnal energy to man’s concealed capabilities, this book discusses and confronts our direction and desires. Though the book cannot be fully understood in a single go, it surely extends a blueprint for everyone. And that is absolutely fair with the great books; you need to read them again and again for proper understanding.
