Martyrs Police Premier League T-20 cricket tournament concludes in Ganderbal

Srinagar: Martyrs Police Premier League T-20 Cricket tournament organised by Police in Ganderbal under the banner of Civic Action Program concluded at Sheikh-ul-Aalam Stadium Kangan.

SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar graced the mesmerizing ceremony of the Grand Finale of Martyrs Police Premier League T-20 Cricket tournament as the Chief Guest.

Besides, Commandant CRPF 118Bn S.S.Yadav, 2IC CRPF 118 Bn Chouhan, SDPO Kangan Muzaffar Jan, DySP DAR DPL Ganderbal Nazir Ahmad, Major Deepak 34RR Assam Rifles, AC 118/Bn CRPF Naresh Yadav & Gagan Singh, other senior officers and a good number of spectators were also present on the said occasion who witnessed the event with full fervour and enthusiasm.

The Grand Finale of the tournament was played between Kullan Royal Strickers & Rayil Cricket Club which was won by Rayil Cricket Club by 5 Wickets. Yasir Arfat was declared Man of the Match & Man of the Tournament for his outstanding performance in the whole tournament.

The tournament witnessed a huge response & 40 Cricket Teams of the District desired to participate, but finally 16 teams were shortlisted through the Lucky Draw Series. The selected playing teams wholeheartedly thanked Police for organising the event.

At the Final Ceremony, SSP Ganderbal appreciated all the teams for taking part in sports events held by District Police Ganderbal from time to time. He also stressed that the young & budding players of the district allow their minds to explore their thoughts and imagination through the medium of sports. Further, he urged the players to show good sportsmanship, discipline as well as good behaviour towards each other.

It is pertinent to mention here that Ganderbal Police is organising different sports events, like Cricket, volleyball football, cultural programmes and other co-curricular activities in the district for the upliftment of sports among the youth. The main aim & motive of organising such events is to develop brotherhood, love, peace & keep youth away from the menace of drug addiction.

The tournament was supervised by SDPO Kangan Shri Muzaffar Jan-JKPS and fully assisted by the Kangan Cricket Board.

Later, SSP Ganderbal presented trophies, sports kits, uniforms and cash rewards to both the winner & runner-up teams & wished them good luck in future.
