3 held for burglary in Budgam

Srinagar: Police in Budgam have solved a burglary case by arresting three accused persons and recovered stolen property from their possession, a police spokesman informed Sunday.

He said on September 20, Police Station Magam received a written complaint from the owner of MB Traders saying that during the preceding night some burglars have barged into his office at Agrikalan Magam and stolen cigarette cartons worth ₹5 lakhs.

After registering a case, during subsequent investigations, police zeroed in on three suspects — Mohammad Yaseen Hajam alias Cobra, son of Ghulam Mustafa Hajam of Trikolbal Pattan; Javid Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh of Churpora Narbal; and Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar of Reshipora Hanjivera Pattan.

During questioning, they admitted their involvement in the theft following which stolen goods were also recovered on their disclosure, police said, addi9ng that they have been arrested and further investigation of the case is going on.
