LCMA demolishes illegally raised structures in Srinagar areas

SRINAGAR: In order to curb the menace of illegal constructions, the Lake Conservation & Management Authority through its Enforcement Wing today conducted a Routine demolition drive in the area of Brein, Ishber Kral Mohalla, Harwan, Tailbel, WFR and Dal.

During the drive, several illegal constructions were demolished/ removed which included 01 tin Shed, 03 Hut, 01 tin walling, 01 3rd storey, 01 2nd storey, 01 shop and 01 Single storey. Besides, legal action has also been initiated against the violators.

The Special Demolition Drives will continue within LCMA Jurisdiction especially in Green Belt (200 mts) and the violators will be dealt under law. Therefore, people within LCMA Jurisdiction are time and again warned not to resort to any kind of illegal construction/ encroachments within LCMA Jurisdiction especially Green Belt (200 mts).

Moreso, people residing within the LCMA residential area are requested to get proper building permission from the competent Authority before taking any construction work in hand, otherwise, strict action shall be taken against them.
