Govt sidestepping its responsibility on addressing public woes: Shameema Firdous
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Women Wing President & In Charge constituency Habba Kadal Shameema Firdous has asked people to protect democratic spaces to halt the march of political and democratic disenfranchisement set in motion on August 05, 2019, by forces inimical to J&K’s unique identity and status.

She, according to the NC spokesperson, said this while addressing a block workers meeting of Chatabal, Habba Kadal constituency at the party headquarters in Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar.

Addressing the workers, Shameema Firdous said, “There is a perception on the ground that the para-dropped administration has become more unaccountable and the Central government’s claim to give Kashmir a corruption-free administration and good governance was simply rhetoric.”

Holding the incumbent administration responsible for price rise, scathing unemployment, administrative inertia, and development deficit, she said, “Government is busy swelling its coffers, but when it comes to passing on the benefits to the poor, it sidesteps its responsibility. Despite charging hefty amounts from consumers, the rampant erratic power supply and unscheduled cuts are taking a toll on people during the ongoing winter season. The administration is further deepening the troubles of people by providing inferior-quality rice and wheat at FCSCA ration stores. There is no accountability on the ground.”

She asked the workers to work in tandem to ensure that the party’s position, vision, and mission reached every household.
