Shopian: Congress Working Committee Member Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Wednesday said that people have high expectations from Congress and a great desire for change in the country given the NDA’s deceitful policies and failures to address multiple issues.
“Peak unemployment, economic distress, unprecedented price rise, open loot and many other issues are responsible for pushing people towards economic backwardness leading to frustration and disappointment across the country,” he said.
He made these comments while interacting with some party workers at Kandi Shadab in Shopian District of South Kashmir.
Party workers led by local Congress leader Reyaz Manhas accorded a rousing reception to a recently appointed CWC Member on his arrival at Kandi Shabadab while hailing Party High Command for his (Mir’s) placement in Congress Party’s highest decision-making body.
G.A.Mir interacted with Party workers who apprised him about the organizational activities and multiple issues confronting the public.
During the interaction, Party workers held threadbare discussions with Ghulam Ahmad Mir over the current state of affairs and suggested many important measures to rejuvenate the Party in the District Shopian.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Ahmad Mir laid emphasis on rejuvenating the Party at the booth level and told the Party workers to start preparations for upcoming ULB and panchayat elections and other challenges especially Assembly and Parliamentary elections. “People have a strong urge for the Congress Party while having full faith and confidence in its pro-people policies and the selfless services rendered towards public betterment.”
“I N D I A (Alliance) is strong enough to defeat NDA with the result they are desperate enough and have started creating confusion under the garb of many unwanted developments aiming to divert people’s attention from real issues,” Mir said and added NDA will face humiliating defeat in upcoming assembly elections in different states and Parliamentary elections.
