Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Awantipora and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession, police spokesman informed Sunday.
He said a police party at a checkpoint at Gallander Crossing intercepted a vehicle (DL7CG-7155) with two persons — Jafar Jahangir, son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir, and Sahil Mushtaq, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, both residents of Safapora – on board.
During checking, 115 bottles of Corex syrup were recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody while the vehicle has also been seized and a case registered.
