Body of missing AEE recovered from LJHP Barrage in Gantmulla, Baramulla

Baramulla: The body of the missing Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), Gurmeet Singh, has been recovered in a barrage within the Lower Jhelum Hydel Project (LJHP) in Gantmulla, Baramulla district.

Following the disappearance of AEE Gurmeet Singh, the Baramulla Police had promptly established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Baramulla. The SIT took charge of the case and initiated a thorough investigation.

In addition to the SIT’s efforts, the police had launched a comprehensive operation involving the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), a Canine squad, and drone surveillance. This multi-pronged approach aimed to uncover potential clues and gather any information that could aid in resolving the case. The public was also asked to provide assistance as part of the investigation.

After an extensive search operation, the body of Gurmeet Singh was located within the barrage of the Lower Jhelum Hydel Project (LJHP) in Gantmulla. The authorities promptly retrieved the body from the site and are currently in the process of transferring it to a nearby hospital for necessary medico-legal procedures.

A police official, while confirming the recovery of the body of AEE, stated that investigations have been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the Engineer’s unfortunate demise. The official assured that once more details are obtained, they will be shared with the public accordingly.
