Second batch of Agniveers attested at JAK LI Regimental Centre, Srinagar

Srinagar: The second batch of Agniveers undergoing training at the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre were attested in a ceremonial event on August 14, 2023, at the JAK LI Regimental Centre, Srinagar.

“As a mark of respect, the event commenced with Rashtriya’s Salute to the National flag followed by oath-taking, address by the Commandant, and piping of Agniveers. Regimental song and National Anthem reverberated in the auditorium,” said PRO (Defence), Srinagar.

“The arduous training of young & determined Agniveers commenced on 01 Mar 2023. The 24 weeks of training mold them into battle-ready soldiers having gone through tough & challenging physical as well as mental conditioning. Apart from physical & mental robustness, they were also trained to imbibe Regimental & military ethos, social etiquettes, brotherhood, camaraderie, and unrelenting spirit to be a disciplined soldier and a responsible citizen of India,” the PRO said.

“The Agniveers having achieved their first milestone will now undergo balance seven weeks of intense training before they report to their Battalions deployed across the nation in tough and challenging terrains. They are highly motivated and enthusiastic about the role they have to play toward national security,” he added.
