DIPR organises plantation drive under ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ campaign

SRINAGAR: Under the ongoing ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ campaign, the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) today organized a plantation drive (Vasuda Vandhan) to commemorate the 75 years of Independence being celebrated as Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Director Information, Minga Sherpa along with officers and officials of the department participated in the drive and planted several plant saplings in the premises of the office complex.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Information highlighted that the ‘Vasuda Vandhan’ (Earth’s Wealth) initiative is being celebrated under AKAM to foster a sense of pride and responsibility among citizens towards the environment besides creating awareness about supreme sacrifices made by freedom fighters and soldiers for the cause of our nation. 

He called upon the officers to create maximum awareness among the people about the ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ campaign as this department has a vital role in that.

The drive saw the participation of all the officers and officials of the department who planted saplings around the premises of the department.
