Srinagar: The government has finally approved the pre-mature retirement of Basant Rath (IPS), who being at loggerheads with his superiors for quite some time and remaining under suspension, had written to the President of India to dismiss him from service.

Rath, who served in Jammu and Kashmir in several important posts, has been targeting the incumbent J&K DG Police, Union Home Secretary, and others following his suspension order.

Meanwhile, Rakesh Kumar Singh, Under Secretary to the Govt of India, Ministry of Home Affairs today issued an order approving the pre-mature retirement of Basant Rath, IPS (AGMUT 2000) in public interest.
