Union MoS AFW reviews functioning of Agriculture, Horticulture Deptts, ICAR-CITH Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (AFW), Sushri Shobha Karandlaje today chaired a meeting and reviewed the functioning of Agriculture, Horticulture departments, and ICAR-CITH here.

Addressing the meeting, the Union Minister stressed on submission of projects on the value addition of different horticulture and agriculture crops so that the socio-economic development of the farming community could be achieved. She impressed upon the participants to ensure that PRI representatives are taken on board during the implementation of different schemes, programs for the welfare of the farming community of the region.

The Union Minister asked the officers to increase awareness among the farmers at the Panchayat level so that the desired results under different programmes could be realized. She assured the concerned officers of every possible support from the Union Ministry for the development of agriculture, horticulture, and other allied sectors in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, a detailed power point presentation was given before the minister by the Director of Agriculture Kashmir, the Director of Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture(CITH), and the Deputy Director of Horticulture Kashmir regarding CSS, HADF, and credit-linked schemes.
