Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Handwara and Bandipora and recovered contraband/psychotropic substances from their possession, a police spokesman informed Monday.
He said in Handwara, two persons — Zayeem Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Haril, and Mohammad Hussain Bhat, son of Abdul Gafar of Maratgam – were arrested after 70gms of cannabis-like substance was recovered from their possession.
In Bandipora, one Ashiq Hussain Bhat, son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat of Nowpora Ward No.01, was arrested after psychotropic substances (Tramadol & Alprazolam capsules) were recovered from his possession.
Meanwhile, in Baramulla, investigating a case of cattle theft, one Aarif Ahmad Shah, son of Jahangir Shah, resident of Takiya Batpora, was arrested and stolen cattle were recovered from his possession, police said.
