Inter-school sports competitions kickstart at Baramulla

BARAMULLA: The inter-school sports competitions for under-14 and 17 boys kick-started amid great enthusiasm witnessing active participation from students across various zones, at Baramulla.

The events are being organised by the Youth Services & Sports Department fostering a healthy competitive spirit and promoting physical fitness among the youth in the district.

The inaugural day witnessed football matches taking place in different zones of the district.

In Zone Pattan, the football competition for under-14 and 17 boys was held, drawing a remarkable turnout of 108 students from various schools. The atmosphere was electric as young talents showcased their skills and determination on the field.

Similarly, Zone Dangiwacha hosted football competitions for under-14 and 17 boys at multiple venues, including GHS Watergam & Yarbug.

The event witnessed a whopping participation of 480 students, making it a grand success. Headmaster of the GHS & SDPO Watergam inaugurated the event, encouraging the young athletes to display true sportsmanship and embrace the spirit of healthy competition.

Moreover, Zone Dangarpora also witnessed an impressive turnout, with 168 students participating in the football competition at the zonal level. The enthusiasm and energy displayed by the participants were commendable, reflecting the passion for sports prevalent among the youth in Baramulla.

The Youth Services & Sports Department, Baramulla, takes immense pride in organizing these competitions that not only provide a platform for young talents to showcase their sporting abilities but also nurture their overall personality and discipline.

The competitions will continue to be held across different zones, culminating in a thrilling district-level finale where the best talents will compete for the ultimate glory.

Meanwhile, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Baramulla expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the schools, teachers, students and sports enthusiasts for their unwavering support and active participation in making these sports events a memorable experience for everyone involved.
