Director Agriculture flags-off batch of farmers on training program

SRINAGAR: A batch of farmers was today flagged off by the Director of Agriculture Kashmir, Chaudhry Mohammad Iqbal from Agriculture Complex Lal Mandi Srinagar on a training program to the central institute of Temperate Horticulture under the Human Resource Development program MIDH organized by the department of Agriculture Kashmir.

The Director while interacting with the farmers on the occasion said that the visit has been organized for making the farmers aware of the latest technologies for commercial agriculture, real-time trends in organic farming, and the cultivation of different crops on scientific lines.

He impressed upon the farmers to interact with the farm scientists, experts, and extension functionaries to get acquainted with up-to-date methodologies in crop cultivation on scientific lines.

He asked the farmers to enhance their technical skills in the field of integrated farming and to adopt the advanced technologies for the cultivation of different crops after learning from such training programs.

Chaudhry said that under the holistic agriculture development program special attention has been given to the capacity building of farmers and to achieve this target a number of programs have been devised.

Chief Agriculture Officer Srinagar, Manohar Lal Sharma; District Agriculture Officer Srinagar, DSCO, Apiculture Development Officer Srinagar Shaikh Farhan, and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
