Speaking to ‘Kashmir Images’, Athar Amir Khan, who heads SSCL as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) said 33 projects will be completed till October this year while remaining 11 projects will be completed by March-April next year.

He said all critical junctions will be regulated through Srinagar Data Network.

Regarding work on the ongoing projects, Khan said the executing agency has been tirelessly working to transform Srinagar into a virtual smart city.

“After successful conduct of G20 working group meeting in Srinagar in May this year, eleven IT projects have been completed in Srinagar with a 175 kilometer long underground Optical Fiber Cable installed in the city to address the digital connectivity issues,” Khan added.

He said Srinagar is undergoing a major facelift under Srinagar Smart City Ltd with separate underground sewerage and drainage networks, underground electricity and communication lines, improved building facades and public convenience facilities.

“Work on all pending projects is going on at full pace and will be completed in the allotted time,” he said, replying to a query that work on Smart City projects is going at snail’s pace after the G20 meeting.
