She highlighted that local lad Aquib Nabi, a prominent cricketer of the J&K senior team, has been groomed on this ground and many players will try to emulate Aquib for his talent and sportsmanship.

The Secretary further said that J&K Sports Council is running cricket academies in many parts of the union territory where our future champions are taught nuances of the great game by likes of Parveez Rasool and Abid Nabi and many will represent J&K and the country in the days to come.

During the summit clash of the Varmul Cup, ACC Blues defeated Bradman Sopore and earned a cash prize of fifty thousand rupees with a coveted trophy. The runner-up team bagged a cash prize of rupees twenty-five thousand.
