CEO Mission Youth Dr Shahid interacts with IAS aspirants at KU

Srinagar: Senior IAS officer Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, CEO of Mission Youth, J&K, and Secretary to Government, Tribal Affairs Department, on Tuesday interacted with IAS-JKAS aspirants who are presently undertaking coaching at the University of Kashmir under ‘Parvaaz’ scheme of Mission Youth.

The special interaction session was organized by the University’s Centre for Career Planning and Counseling (CCPC). It was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Nilofer Khan.

In his detailed interaction with the students, Dr Shahid urged them to work with the larger goal of “contributing something back to society”.

Saying that various areas of study including the civil services are full of possibilities and opportunities, he urged young students to “pursue goals as per their own satisfaction and never stop learning in life.” 

He also assured full support of Mission Youth to the University of Kashmir, especially in the endeavor to establish a full-fledged residential coaching facility in the Varsity.

On the occasion, Dr Shahid also shared his experiences with the students and answered their queries related to civil services examinations. 

In her presidential address, Prof Nilofer Khan said the IAS coaching programme under the Parvaaz scheme is being seriously pursued by the University’s CCPC with the objective of offering the best possible coaching to the aspirants to help them crack the examination. 

Thanking Mission Youth CEO and his team for supporting the University, the Vice-Chancellor said her administration is willing to go the extra mile in supporting IAS prelims qualifiers in their journey to achieve their final goal. 

The VC said instructions have already been passed to have the best resource persons offer coaching to the IAS aspirants at the CCPC. However, at the same time, she impressed upon the aspirants to work hard and study seriously to bring laurels to J&K by cracking the examination.

“Our University will also study some of the best civil services coaching models in the country and try to adopt the best one,” the VC said, complimenting CCPC for organizing the interaction session to help widen the canvas of aspirants’ understanding and knowledge of civil services.

Registrar Dr Nisar A Mir, who was a guest of honour, underlined the pressing need to have the residential coaching facility established at the University of Kashmir with the support of Mission Youth. He said this would greatly benefit hundreds of aspirants to study with added focus and attention within the unique academic ambiance of the University. 

Earlier, Director CCPC, Prof Geer M Ishaq spelled out the achievements of CCPC and its various programmes presently underway. He also highlighted the vast work being undertaken by Mission Youth under its different programmes. 

On the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor also felicitated Dr Shahid Choudhary and his team with mementos for bagging the Prime Minister’s Award of Excellence for the Mission Youth initiative.

OSDs at Mission Youth, Dr Murtaza Rashid, and Tabish Saleem, were also present on the occasion.
