Srinagar: On the eve of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Police observed a series of events at various police establishments across Kashmir.
Besides, various rallies & police-public meetings were also organized at various places to aware the youth as well as the society of drugs & their ill effects. Fine to the tune of ₹11,900/- was also realized from shopkeepers for selling tobacco products near educational institutions in a special drive.
On International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking, Anti-Narcotics Task Force J&K Police in collaboration with Kashmir Road Safety Foundation organized an awareness event and drug-free rally in Polo-view Srinagar in which students, officials, and locals of the area participated.
SSP Anti-Narcotics Task Force Raj Kumar said that together we can curb this menace of drugs and such awareness programs are important for society.
Live demonstration of Calisthenics and Martial Art promoting the culture of fitness among youngsters was also displayed.
After the demonstration, all the participants and officials carried out a drug-free rally which started at Polo-view Market and ended in Press Colony Srinagar.
At the conclusion of the event, SSP Anti-Narcotics Task Force J&K along with all the participants took a pledge to stay away from drugs and also work against the drugs.
