3-day Internal Assessor Training for officers of health department concludes

SRINAGAR: A three-day Internal Assessor Training programme for officers of the health department of Kashmir division concluded here today.

The training programme was organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in collaboration with National Health Mission (NHM) J&K.

The valedictory ceremony was attended by Secretary of Health and Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar, as chief guest besides Advisor Quality Improvement at NHSRC, J N Srivastava, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Rather, Dr Jitender Mehta, State Nodal Officer, Quality Assurance, Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents and other officers of the department.

Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary of Health said that the training programme is a significant step towards ensuring that more health facilities in JK meet the desired standards of quality. He exhorted upon the officers to conduct a baseline assessment of all the facilities in their jurisdiction and set concrete targets for the proper implementation of NQAS in JK.

He stressed upon the officers to work in close coordination for achieving NQAS in the shortest possible time. He said that the gaps which have been identified during the physical assessment of the health facilities need to be addressed and closed for expediting the national certification during the current financial year.

J N Srivastava, while speaking on the occasion, said that proper planning and coordination is important for the implementation of NQAS in JK while assuring full support to the health department of JK.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jitender Mehta, said that the main objective of the training is to provide an overview of National Quality Assurance Standards as well as to increase the pool of Internal Assessors in the UT of J&K.

Dr Mushtaq said that the department is committed to ensuring that all the health facilities meet the standards of quality for better patient care.
