Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Handwara and recovered contraband substance from his possession, officials said Saturday.
They said police intercepted a suspicious person at Kralgund near Eidgah. Identified as Mohammad Amin Bhat alias Umar, son of Rayaz Ahmad, resident of Kralgund, the person was arrested after his personal search yielded 40 grams of cannabis, police said.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Kralgund and an investigation has been initiated.
